Grape Barossa Grower Service Award2012 Grape Barossa Grower Service Award
The Grape Barossa Grower Service Award (GBGSA) evolved from the need for an award for those hardworking grape grower volunteers who are involved in many grape growing bodies within the Barossa and within the state of South Australia. Industry meetings are often held in grape growers' own time and their efforts of championing the cause of the whole Barossa are often unseen and unrecognised.
The GBGSA aims to provide growers with the opportunity to recognise their peers for their involvement and contribution to our industry within the Barossa.
Leo Pech's, long-standing Barossa grape grower and industry stalwart, was the inaugural recipient and was recognised for his achievements at the Barons of Barossa Declaration of Vintage in February 2011.
If you know a Barossa grower who has invested a great deail of their time providing services to the grape growing community, please help us acknowledge their achievements by nominating them for the 2012 Grape Barossa Grower Service Award.
The successful recipient will be presented with the award at the Barons of the Barossa Declaration of Vintage Ceremony in February 2012. The prize includes a framed photograph of the recipients' vineyard by Dragan Radocaj Photography, two tickets to the sponsor's luncheon, and their name will be scripted onto the Grape Barossa Honour Board located at the BGWA office.
In order to be considered for the award, the person nominated must:
-
Be or have been involved in viticulture as a grower for a minimum of 10 years, within the Barossa; and/or
-
Be involved and have made significant contributions to industry bodies within the Barossa, South Australian and/or Australia.
