Schild Estate: Moorooroo Limited Release Shiraz
Made from old vines over 165 years old, the Moorooroo Limited Release Shiraz is Schild Estate’s most prized wine.
The Moorooroo Vineyard was planted by Johan and William Jacob in 1847. The block is situated between Jacob’s Creek and the North Para River, hence the name Moorooroo, an Aboriginal word meaning ‘meeting of two waters’.
Moorooroo Limited Release Shiraz is a wine that represents everything the family holds dear. The wine has historical significance as it comes from a vineyard cared for by generations of Barossan families. The Moorooroo vines concentrate the characteristics of the single vineyard into a wine of rare complexity, at the same time displaying intensity of character with a subtlety and elegance only found in wines of the very highest quality.
The first vintage of Moorooroo was produced in 2001 and this wine has been produced every year since except 2011.
