Applications for the 2011 GKVIA are now open.
The Geoff Knights Viticulture Innovation Award is an initiative of the Barossa Viticulture Technical Group (BVTG). The award grants $10,000 to an individual to support a viticulture project, trial, study or any other activity that benefits viticulture in the Barossa.
The award is open to grape growers, viticulturists, or any other individual involved in viticulture. The applicant does not have to be a Barossa resident.
To apply, individuals need to complete an application form outlining their proposal and submit this to the BVTG by Friday 9 September. Applicants may submit their own proposal or choose a topic from the list of regional priorities.
Successful recipients will have the capacity to further their networks and involvement within the Barossa through the BVTG.
APPLICATION & SELECTION PROCESS
Applications must be received by email or post by 5pm Friday 9 September. All applications will be assessed according to criteria in the Application Guidelines. Applicants may be required to attend an interview and will be notified of the outcome by 30 September. The 2011 recipient will be formally awarded at the Barons of Barossa Declaration of Vintage Ceremony in February 2012, but funding will be made available from 30 September.
