Come to Kapunda October 18-20 for the inaugral Kapunda Arts & Music Festival (KMAF).
The Weekend kicks off on Friday October 18th at the Map the Miner Precinct with the "Largest Loudest Shirt Day" proudly supported by the Light Regional Council. This will be followed by an official opening on Friday evening at the Soldiers Hall. At this time, the biennial Sir Sidney Kidman Art Exhibition will be opened and bands will be on-stage and in venues in the township.
On Saturday, the Hill Street Precinct and Main Stage will be occupied with plenty of action. There will be various workshops and demonstrations including book writing, sculpture, junk art, poetry reading, painting, craft-making, scrapbooking, auto art, weaving and spinning and more are planned for both days. Saturday night sees the Scase Automotive Kapunda Show ‘n’ Shine car event where Main Street will be closed off, while a rockabilly band will be on stage and a rock ‘n’ roll demonstration will be performed by the Valley Rockers.
Sunday starts with a free Poet’s Breakfast, while the Main Stage offers another day of music.
The historic Riot Act will be read before the popular Grand Parade makes its way down Main Street and afterwards an Australiana themed performance will be held by ‘Me & Me Mates’ at the Chapel Theatre, Kapunda in conjunction with the Kapunda Musical Society Incorporated.
