Sala: Some of the Parts at Schild Estate
1 - 31 August 2014, 10:00am-5:00pm
Location: Schild Estate, 1 Lyndoch Valley Road, Lyndoch
Michael Collett, local painter and emerging artist, is set to take the Barossa by storm at SALA this year.
Throughout August, at Schild Estate, Michael is presenting “Some of the Parts” a still life Photographic Exhibition.
This absorbing set of photographs cleverly takes the observer through the landscape. The images change with the light, come alive with water. They twist, float and fall—bit players in their abstract way—’some of the parts ‘of the landscape.
A Barossa resident since 2001, Michael spent 13 years working in London and Cape Town where he studied and practiced photography in addition to training and working as a specialist painter.
Extensive travels and attendance at numerous festivals, theatrical, operatic and musical performances and visual arts exhibitions during this time throughout the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East fostered his interest in wide ranging arts and cultures and gave inspiration to his creative pursuits then and now. Still life photography is his main passion. He has been part of several exhibitions including the Glamorous Artoholics (SALA 2007 and at the Barossa Regional Gallery December 2007) in the Barossa, and Art in the Sticks in the Coonawarra (SALA 2012 and independent exhibition 2013). He has recently exhibited at Artisans of Barossa with jeweller Kirsty MacKirdy.
