Barossa's Art CultureBarossa's Art Culture
The Arts are part of the Barossa lifestyle and in every town you will find art galleries and craft outlets to browse through and buy from. Studios offer the chance to visit artisans at work, and heritage crafts including cooperage and quilting provide a treasured link to the Barossa's rich history. Many wineries, cafes and retail outlets feature permanent and touring exhibitions, merging the pleasures of food, wine and the arts.
To immerse yourself in the local art scene visit the Barossa Regional Gallery in Tanunda. Home to the Barossa Vintage Festival collection and the Soldiers Memorial Gallery, the Regional Gallery hosts a variety of local and touring exhibitions. Other permanent features include the Long Gallery, dedicated to work by local artists, and the Hill and Son Grand Organ restoration project. A true community effort, the project is a labour of love for local craftsmen and organ lovers and will see this magnificent instrument, originally built for the Adelaide Town Hall, restored to its former glory.

Living in the Barossa Valley, it is difficult to avoid forming some kind of relationship with the surrounding landscape - the gorgeous hills, arching horizons and wide skies. Artists in particular are often compelled to articulate their relationship with this land and Charlie Pedler is no exception. What better space to exhibit these works than peripheral art space at Kabminye Wines? Here three storeys of glass windows invite the landscape into the building, providing a natural reflection of Pedler's interpretations in oil on canvas.
