Barossa's Butcher Baker Winemaker Trail I Barossa Valley Tourism Experiences

Butcher, Baker, Winemaker Trail

Discover the region's delicious food and wine!

Welcome to the Barossa Valley, a food and wine lover's paradise. The region boasts an authentic culture that has been evolving for the past 170 years. The Barossa is blessed with fertile soils and a Mediterranean climate, with warm dry summers, and mild, wet winters.

In spring the vines are bursting with bright green buds and the fruits in the orchards are in blossom. In summer, there is an abundance of produce - apricots, peaches, plums, tomatoes, cucumbers - delicious fresh, dried, or made in to preserves and pickles, and yabbies in the local creeks and dams.

The air is heavy in autumn with the smell of fermenting wine as vintage begins. Plump quinces, figs, nuts, apples, pears and olives flourish during this fertile season.

To complete the seasonal calendar, harvest continues in winter with lemons, oranges, limes and other citrus fruits growing heavy in limbs of old trees in country orchards.

The food and wine experiences you will have in the Barossa Valley are as diverse as its seasons, enjoy!
