The Lindner family of Langmeil Winery has been immersed in Barossa’s culture of farming, food, wine and community for six generations, where they started out as quality smallgoods producers of the region in the late 1800’s.

They, along with three other passionate partners, established Langmeil Winery in 1996 at the site of an abandoned winery and vineyard, believed to be the world’s oldest surviving shiraz vines planted in 1843 from which Langmeil’s iconic Freedom 1843 Shiraz hails - the pinnacle of their winemaking.

In 2012, the Lindner family took full ownership of Langmeil, and continues to craft cutting edge, old school wines from regional varietal icon’s including Shiraz, Riesling and Grenache.

Today, brothers Paul and James Lindner represent the sixth generation, continuing to strive for high quality while maintaining their family’s core belief in community values – values that have been instilled through their parent’s German and Italian ancestry and the Barossa way of life.

Langmeil’s commitment to quality in all aspects is unwavering and any wine that bears this historic Barossa township name represents the family’s pursuit of excellence in wine and community.

"True to the region · True to the community · True to ourselves"
