Food Barossa

Food Barossa is a regional food brand established by an enthusiastic group of food producers. It's a true celebration of the region's food culture and provides a support network to allow local producers to proudly share products with the world.

Barossa Farmers Market

The Barossa Farmers Market is the place to really immerse yourself in the Barossa's food culture. Held each Saturday morning in the historic Vintners Sheds (co-located with Vintners Bar and Grill) near Angaston, the Farmers Market showcases real food from the homes and farms of the Barossa. The market is open every Saturday morning from 7.30am to 11.30am, Vintners Sheds, corner of Nuriootpa and Light Pass Roads, Angaston.

Maggie Beer - Barossa's Famous Foodie

Maggie Beer is a self-taught cook who is today one of Australia's most celebrated food identities. Maggie and husband Colin Beer moved to South Australia's Barossa in 1973 where they began farming pheasants on their new property near Nuriootpa. Colin was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study game bird breeding in Europe and America and following their return, they opened a farm shop to sell the game birds they were breeding. This humble shop soon grew into the famed Pheasant Farm Restaurant. Maggie Beer products are now available in Japan, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the US - and widely available in the Barossa, including at Maggie Beer's Farm Shop between Tanunda and Nuriootpa.
