China Wine & Spirit Awards 2012
26 September 2012
Congratulations to the winners of the biggest and most prestigious wine & spirits competition in HK and China - the China Wine Awards and the China Spirits Awards.
Australia tops the table with the highest number (68) of Gold Medal winning wines and spirits. This is followed by Portugal (45), Italy (37), South Africa (37), Spain (27), France (26), New Zealand (19), Chile (16), Argentina (12) and Greece (10).
'Australia has been super committed to raising the quality of their wines and has worked extremely hard to raise their game - so they deserve this success' says Nikolas Prehn CWA Consultant.
South Australia's fruity and easy to drink Gatt Wines received an incredible six Double Gold Medals. Other notable Australian wineries include premium winemakers Fox Gordon, the iconic Barossa Valley Château Tanunda and Thorn-Clarke Wines, all received 4 Gold medals or more.
The Awards are judged by 100 Judges, who are all China based professional importers, distributors and retailers, who buy an excess of 50 million bottles of wine & spirits per year, and are carefully selected to represent the fastest growing wine and spirits market in the world.
