KEY LEADERSHIP ROLE FOR THE BAROSSA ANNOUNCED

The Barossa Grape & Wine Association (BGWA) has appointed James March as its new Chief Executive.
BGWA Chairman, Linda Bowes, announced James’ successful application following an extensive national recruitment process.
“Such a high profile position for the Barossa drew a strong field of candidates from across Australia, reflecting well on the success and profile the BGWA has built since it was established in November 2007.
“James’ strategic vision, proven capacity to conceive, develop and execute world class promotional initiatives, as well as his thorough understanding of the region made him the ideal appointment.
“The Board’s goal was to find a candidate who could lead the organisation into its next phase of growth. We believe James has the experience and energy to the meet the various challenges the Barossa brand and the organisation face in such a highly competitive and fast changing environment,” she said.
James is currently Manager – Marketing and Communications with the BGWA, a role he has held since May 2010.
“I am absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the organisation. Being so closely immersed in the region and its networks has enabled me to foster tremendous relationship’s with the Barossa’s grape growers and brand operators, something I regard as a true privilege.
“I look forward to adding an exciting new chapter to the region’s generations of effort and collaborative culture,” he said.
