Based in Tanunda, Steinys Traditional Mettwurst has been producing quality mettwurst and smallgoods for well over 30 years. They specialise in traditional fermentation and smoking methods to create a true German style. The original recipe was brought to Australia by early settlers.
Steinys Traditional Mettwurst is created using a fermentation process similar to beer, wine and bread, which destroys bacteria but also cures, creating a truly unique flavour. All of Steinys products are very high in protein and low in fat.
Steinys use the best quality ingredients - lean beef, pork and quality spices. Smoking products with South Australian Riverland Mallee timber gives them unique flavour and enhances the curing.
These are wholesome products, best enjoyed as a snack food, great for lunch boxes or with a glass of wine or beer. A great flavour enhancer to European food dishes, pasta sauce, pizzas and platters.
Steinys Traditional Mettwurst Tasting Room is open for visitors to taste and purchase products Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and weekends 11am to 4pm.
