Shop Barossa Tasting Trail [Barossa Vintage Festival]
A Blended Barossa Shopping Experience
The Barossa may be renowned for its food and wine, but it is fast becoming recognised as an indulgent shopping destination. Boutiques and homeware stores line the main streets of Barossa townships offering everything from cultural homewares and children’s toys to artisan jewellery, clothing and furniture, making it a unique shopping destination.
There’s no better time to soak up the atmosphere of the Barossa than during the 70th Barossa Vintage Festival, and it's also the perfect time to shop like a Barossan.
Following on from the successful Shop Barossa Christmas activation, over 30 Barossa retailers have again collaborated to create an exclusive one-day shopping experience by offering exclusive specials alongside indulgent bite-sized Barossa treats on Friday, 21 April.
We encourage you to follow the walking map to discover the amazing in-store promotional offers and let the retailers indulge you with their tasty bite-sized offerings of Barossa food and beverages, while you shop til you drop!
Retailer, Bridget Laucke of Alabaster Barossa said the Barossa is making a name for itself as an exclusive shopping destination with its range of high quality, diverse artisan and distinctive products.
“Shopping in the Barossa is not your average shopping experience, nor do we offer the same as everyone else. Shopping Barossa style is a more soulful experience. We take the time to make sure our products have integrity, and this also means supporting local makers and artists along much-loved designer brands,” said Bridget.
“We have an extraordinary range of speciality stores right across the region that offer products you simply can’t find in a normal shopping experience.
“Collectively as retailers, we hope this initiative will further strengthen the Barossa’s reputation as a major shopping destination, which is further enhanced by our world-famous food and wine.”
Shop Barossa presents a fantastic opportunity for locals and visitors alike. Meander along the streets, take in the scenic surrounds, browse the diverse retails stores and sample local produce.
“The Vintage Festival is the perfect time for an exclusive one-day shopping promotion; a time when we have a captive audience keen to explore and experience every aspect the Barossa has to offer,” said Regional Tourism Manager, Cathy Wills.
“We are confident this activation will see an increased amount of traffic through our retailer’s doors. The Vintage Festival attracts people from interstate and overseas, and while the Barossa is commonly known for its incredible food and wine offerings, we are also one of the most diverse shopping destinations in South Australia.
“Shop Barossa is about creating awareness and excitement around our evolving retail sector.”
This is the third Shop Barossa activation which will see people take a break from the all the wining and dining during the Vintage Festival and hit the shops to take advantage of this exclusive shopping experience.
After shopping your way around the Barossa, kick back in the Tanunda Town Square and enjoy a fabulous fashion show featuring local retailers, Daisy & Hen and Lami Saru.
Shop Barossa is an initiative of Tourism Barossa and is supported by Regional Development Australia – Barossa.
