Butcher, Baker, Winemaker Trail [1 day]
The Butcher, Baker, Winemaker Trail lends itself perfectly to a day of exploring the Barossa. It's our luxurious version of a Yellow Brick Road that winds you through the very best food and wine experiences the Barossa has to offer.
Start your Butcher, Baker, Winemaker Trail adventure by purchasing a VIP Voucher booklet and gourmet picnic hamper for only $79 at the Barossa Visitor Information Centre, the Gawler VIC, or the Kapunda VIC. You can also purchase online here.
Your gourmet picnic hamper contains a stainless steel cheese knife, cheese board, two Barossa wine glasses, napkins, condiments dish and printed Trail Map – everything you need to get started!
Now, take a few moments to plan the first few steps of your culinary adventure through the Barossa and don’t forget to ask for an insider’s tip or two from our wonderful Visitor Information Centre staff – you can’t beat local knowledge.
And then you’re off! Adventuring is thirsty work so start by paying a visit to one of our participating cellars doors and use a VIP voucher to collect your bottle of wine to the value of $20.
From here you can begin to build your gourmet picnic from producers featured along the Trail. Use your VIP vouchers to collect the following produce and meet a few characters along the way:
Local, handmade cheese, and crackers from the Barossa Valley Cheese Company
A traditionally smoked Barossa mettwurst from Linke’s Central Meat Store, Schulz Butchers or Steiny’s Traditional Mettwurst
A delicious, zesty relish from Zimmy’s Barossa Valley Produce; and
Tasty dried fruits from Gully Gardens.
Your Butcher, Baker, Winemaker Trail map also includes a list of our favourite picnic spots in the Barossa – some well known and others nestled away in hidden corners of the valley. Take the time to kick back and enjoy the fruits of your travels, a glass of wine (or two) and a beautiful view.
