Turkey Flat Vineyards: Turkey Flat Shiraz
Turkey Flat Vineyards’ Shiraz vines are an integral part of the Barossa Valley’s history. They were among 72 varieties planted here in 1847, part of the original testing garden to see which would thrive in the new land, informing the future of the Barossa Valley. These Shiraz vines were saved from destruction in 1990 and became Turkey Flat Vineyards.
Recent additional Shiraz plantings on the Turkey Flat estates in Bethany and Stonewell have been taken from cuttings of the original Ancestor vines.
Composed and meticulously crafted, the Turkey Flat Shiraz shows the true worth of old-vine Barossa Shiraz. It is the result of an intricate blending process of Shiraz from different Barossa Valley vineyards.
