Hutton Vale Farm: Hutton Vale Farm Lamb
Respect for Mother Nature and the season means the farm’s produce captures the true essence of the soils and natural pastures. The sheep enterprise has been part of its sustainable farming production since settlement of the property in the 1840s. Hutton Vale maintains a small-scale operation and pursues a no-stress philosophy in raising its livestock. All the sheep on the property graze freely on open pasture to produce a superior flavour and quality standard. Hutton Vale values its animals and treats them with the utmost respect. The lambs are born on its land, as were their mothers and grandmothers, dating back to 1940s and this gives a strong genetic adaptation to the climate and pasture conditions.
Hutton Vale lamb was a finalist in the 2014 Delicious Produce Awards and features on the menu of a number of Barossa restaurants and is also available fresh from the Barossa Farmers Market every Saturday morning.
