Langmeil Winery: Valley Floor Shiraz
First made in 1997, the Langmeil Valley Floor Shiraz represents the foundation principles of its owners, the Lindner family, a six-generation Barossa family with an inherent knowledge of the region absorbed through the privilege of growing up around winemaking families.
Using 20% Langmeil fruit and 80% from local growers ensures family winemaker Paul Lindner can create the wine to resonate across the wider Barossa community. To capture this expression, the wine is completely handmade with each vineyard parcel kept separate to maintain the individual flavours of each source. Fruit is de-stemmed rather than crushed and traditional open fermentation basket pressing is used before each parcel is matured in American oak barrels for 18 to 24 months.
