Seppeltsfield has won the category of Best Tourism - Winery, Distilleries or Breweries at the 2016
South Australian Tourism Awards, announced at the Adelaide Convention Centre last night.
The property took out the state award in a back-to-back accomplishment from 2015 and will now progress
to the national awards to be held in Darwin, February 2017.
Convened by the South Australian Tourism Industry Council (SATIC), the category win recognises wineries,
distilleries and boutique breweries that offer a cellar door experience and create a significant contribution to tourism.
Fellow Barossa estates Elderton Wines and Turkey Flat Vineyards were also honoured in the category,
taking out silver awards, along with other finalists Penfolds, Pike & Joyce and Hugh Hamilton Wines.
Representatives from Seppeltsfield will now travel to Portugal on a further related mission, as a dual category
finalist in the Great Wine Capitals international tourism awards. The Great Wine Capital Global Network awards will held in Porto on Thursday 10th November, where Seppeltsfield will be alongside elite estates from Bordeaux, Napa and Rioja, among others.
