There is no better way to explore the Barossa’s premium food, wine and rich heritage than by bicycle. The Barossa Council’s high-quality sealed cycling and walking network extends 40 kilometres from Angaston to Gawler via the three main townships of Nuriootpa, Tanunda and Lyndoch.
The Barossa Cycle Hub is a perfect starting point and is located in Tanunda’s main street alongside the Barossa Visitor Centre.
Facilities include bike hire (both standard hybrid bikes and e-bikes), showers, public toilets, bike maintenance station, bike accessories, drinking fountain, picnic tables, shelter and regional cycle and tourism information.

*COVID-19 - Flexible booking policy: If cancellation is necessary due to changes in Government regulations or due to Covid related illness we will honour a full refund or postpone your bike hire to another date with changes permitted up to and including day of arrival. Normal cancellation policy applies to all other non COVID related cancellations. Please Note - In adverse weather conditions, including catastrophic fire days - the Barossa Visitor Centre reserves the right to cancel all bicycle hire if we feel your safety will be compromised. If the temperature is at or over 35 degrees Celsius as per http://www.bom.gov.au/ website at 9am on the day of hire, we are unable to hire out bikes. We want all our guests to enjoy their time in the Barossa and arrive home safely - your safety is our concern; but your responsibility. Conditions of Hire: I agree to hire bike(s) and equipment from the Barossa Cycle Hub (on behalf of Barossa Bike Hire - BBH) subject to the following conditions: 1. I must give a $50 refundable (cash or credit card pre-authorisation) deposit per Standard Hybrid Bike or $120 for Electric bike which will be refunded on the return of bike(s) and equipment in a good undamaged condition. 2. When not in use the supplied bike(s) and equipment must be secured at all times with the lock provided (i.e. the wheel and frame of the bike must be locked together to a secure object). Bike(s) and equipment must be secured indoors for overnight hire. 3. I am aware that in South Australia legally I must wear a helmet at all times when riding a bike. I shall be responsible to ensure the helmet fits me snugly and is secured. 4. I shall be responsible for the return of the bike(s) and equipment and agree that I shall pay Barossa Bike Hire (BBH) for any lost or damage at the replacement/repair cost. 5. I shall return the equipment the Barossa Cycle Hub by the agreed time: Monday-Friday 4:45pm Saturday and Sunday 3:45pm. If the bikes are not returned by this time additional daily rates will apply together with a $30.00 administration fee. 6. I understand that if the hiring period is exceeded without notice additional daily rates will be applied together with a $30 administration fee. 7. I accept that Barossa Bike Hire will charge a ‘clean and service’ fee of $150.00 for any equipment returned with excessive mud on it that it requires a full clean and degreasing to return the equipment to the condition it was at the commencement of this agreement. 8. I understand that in the event that I should return the bike(s) or equipment supplied in a damaged condition a Barossa Visitor Centre staff member will advise me of the process for evaluating the damage. I understand that at this point my deposit will be forfeited ($50.00 for Standard hybrid Bike & $120.00 for Electric Bike) and that any further damages will be a matter between myself and the bike operator – Barossa Bike Hire (BBH). 9. I am aware that in the event of breakdowns or problems with bike(s) or equipment (e.g. flat tyre) I will advise Barossa Bike Hire (BBH) on 0400 537 770 for collection and/or repair immediately. If the breakdown is due to general maintenance there will be no additional costs however if BBH deem the breakdown was caused by the user (e.g. crash dropping bike(s)) then a repair/collection fee will be charged. This fee will be discussed once inspection by BBH of the bike(s) has been made and the hire cost and deposit is not refundable. 10. I am aware that the bikes are Urban bikes and are designed for road use or bike paths. I agree to stick to bitumen roads and specified bike paths and agree I will not ride on gravel roads or on any dirt paths or in vineyards. 11. South Australia considers cycling while intoxicated to be an offence under the Road Traffic ACT 1961 and it is the customer and the rider’s responsibility to monitor and regulate their alcohol consumption. BBH do not endorse drink–riding or the excessive consumption of alcohol. 12. I agree that the equipment must not be transported by any vehicle to or from any place of hire by the customer or the riders or anyone engaged by the customer or the riders for this purpose. 13. I have read and accepted the Barossa Bike Hire Terms and Conditions – laminated copy shown to me at time of booking. Waiver of Liability The activity of cycling has risks involved with it which may result in injury or damage to myself other parties or their property or a person for whom or on whose behalf I am acquiring the services. I am aware of the risks involved and agree to assume responsibility for my actions should they result in any injury or damage to myself other parties or their property or a person for whom or on whose behalf I am acquiring the services. I agree to not hold the Barossa Visitor Centre and/or Barossa Bike Hire (BBH) responsible for any injuries or damage associated with such risks and the hire of this equipment. I acknowledge that I have read and understood the Hire Terms and conditions. I acknowledge that I am over 18 years of age. Authority of the customer: I declare that I have read understood and agree to abide by these condition.
