If you sell food in retail stores in Australia, new Country of Origin Labelling (CoOL) laws will apply from tomorrow (1 July 2016). The changes are being introduced to give consumers easy to understand food labels which will clearly show where the food is grown, produced, made or packed.
The new labelling will incorporate the 'Australian Made' recognised kangaroo in the triangle logo, a content indicator and supporting text.
There is a two year transition period for businesses, but it is important to consider the requirements now, when you are planning future packaging needs.
There is information available on the new requirements here (Government) and here (Australian Made organisation). Some products may not require labelling and there are different labelling requirements for different types of products.
There is an online tool to help you work out what your products might need. The Country of Origin Food Labelling Taskforce has said:
The tool will help you determine if you need a label, and if you need a standard mark that features graphics as well as text, it will then find, customise and download an appropriate label for your food product. Once you’ve downloaded an appropriate label, you can then save it, and print or manipulate it before affixing it to your food product prior to sale.

If there is sufficient interest we will look to organise such a workshop.
