Please don't walk, ride or drive amongst our vines

We have some of the oldest vines in the world.

Your shoes, clothing and tyres can spread pests and diseases.

Enjoy our wines. Protect our vines.

Barossa is a land of generous spirit, relaxed outlook and love of life. But one thing we’re not casual about is vine health.

Barossa has the oldest, continuously producing Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon vineyards in the world. We need your help to keep our vines safe.

Your shoes, clothing and tyres can spread pests and diseases, including phylloxera which would devastate our ancient vineyards and our region. 75% of our vineyards are susceptible to the pest, for which there is no treatment or cure.

You can't see these pests or diseases, so you wouldn't know and neither would we, until it's too late.

Protecting our vines and our heritage is simple: please don’t walk, ride or drive amongst our vines.

A wine-country selfie looks better when you're looking after the environment, anyway.

Just think of every glass of old-vine Barossa wine as our little thanks to you for helping to protect our lifeblood.
