Nestled in the heart of the Barossa, Bethany Reserve is a charming community space available for hire, perfect for weddings, family celebrations, reunions, corporate functions, and community events. Just two kilometres from Tanunda, the reserve offers a tranquil setting surrounded by history and nature, with easy access to local wineries, the Heysen Trail, and Mengler Hill Lookout.
The reserve features a large, sheltered area (17m × 6.5m) fitted with picnic-style tables, benches, and a fireplace (BYO wood), as well as a spacious 2,000m² lawn ideal for games, marquees, or outdoor ceremonies. A fully equipped kitchen can be hired, complete with fridge, microwave, gas hotplates, pie warmer, urn, and seating for small groups. Toilets, including accessible amenities, are located just 35 metres from the shelter, with ramp access and ample on-site parking making the venue convenient and inclusive for all guests.
Steeped in heritage, Bethany Reserve was once a meeting ground for the Peramangk people and later used by early German settlers. Today, mature gums planted in the 1930s provide shade and a sense of continuity, making it both a practical and meaningful venue.
Bookings are managed by Barossa Council, with minimum notice periods required for permits relating to food, alcohol, or road closures.
