The Nuriootpa War Memorial Swimming Pool is a popular outdoor aquatic facility located on Kokoda Road, offering a relaxed and family-friendly place to cool off during the warmer months in the Barossa.
The centre features a 50-metre swimming pool ideal for lap swimmers and recreational use, along with a shaded toddlers’ pool designed for young children to safely enjoy the water and build confidence. Large, grassed areas surrounded by native trees create a welcoming open-air setting for families, groups and casual visitors.
Facilities include self-service BBQs, picnic areas, large change rooms with accessible amenities, and a range of recreational options. Pool toys, inflatable hire, bean bags, umbrellas, tables and chairs are available, along with grass games such as cricket, volleyball, basketball and soccer. The pool is also equipped to host carnivals and events, featuring six competition lanes, flags and a start gun, and is available for private functions and group bookings.
The pool operates seasonally and opens on days when the Bureau of Meteorology forecast for Nuriootpa reaches 25 degrees or above, assessed at 5pm the day prior. On days forecast at 34 degrees or above, opening hours may be extended until 8pm, subject to management discretion.
The centre is fully supervised by trained and qualified lifeguards, with water quality maintained by certified pool plant operators to ensure a safe and enjoyable swimming experience.
