Many a winemaker the world over will hold fond memories of Roseworthy. As home to the Roseworthy campus of the University of Adelaide, Australia’s oldest agricultural education centre, it is well-known for its international standard winemaking courses as well as a broad curriculum of agricultural sciences.

The boom-time history of this area as a grain and copper transport hub are still clearly visible, with giant silos still towering over now disused railway lines and station sidings. The steam-powered past of Roseworthy is lovingly preserved by the dedicated volunteers at the Roseworthy Railway Club Inc. Model Railway who offer rides on the third Saturday of the month 6-10pm (November-March) and on the third Sunday of the month 12.30-4.30pm (April-October) – a great activity for children.
