Owned and operated by vignerons and wine producers Wendy Allan and Tony Brooks, Pindarie Cellar Door, 100 acre vineyard and 750 acre farm are located on the Barossa Valley’s Western Ridge with spectacular, expansive views to the Barossa Ranges. The cellar door offers visitors the best of the Barossa in terms of tourism –regional wines for tasting and sale, locavore food, heritage, family attraction and hospitality. 

Testament to Tony’s meticulous eye for detail and passion for stonework, he has spent over 20 years restoring by hand Pindarie’s original farm buildings. The old grain room and heritage stables are now home to Pindarie’s cellar door. Using materials sourced and repurposed directly from the property or rescued from salvage yards and local clearing sales, visitors marvel at Tony’s ingenuity, resourcefulness and craftsmanship.

A winner of multiple tourism awards, cellar door is the home of Pindarie’s western ridge wines, offering a genuine paddock to plate experience. Tastings of the full range of estate grown wines are complemented by the 360-degree view of Pindarie’s vineyards from where the wines are originally sourced. It is a place to relax and enjoy seasonal lunches of local produce while watching children play and explore the working property.

The Western Ridge offers a perfect sub-region for crafting full flavoured wines, through the combination of climate and soil type of red brown earth over limestone known as Terra Rossa soils. It is these favourable characters that deliver an ideal setting for Pindarie’s single estate grown vineyards. Expressing the regional aspect of terrior, its soils and climate, Pindarie produces entirely Estate grown vines. With a wine style unique to the western ridge and the Barossa Valley, Pindarie is recognised for its deep rich wines. Plantings of Shiraz, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon were matched to the soil and microclimate of the western ridge to make consistently great wines within this sub region.

Wines produced each vintage include the Western Ridge Shiraz, The Risk Taker Tempranillo, Schoff’s Hill Cabernet Sauvignon, Bar Rossa Tempranillo and Sangiovese, and La femme Savagnin. The Black Hinge Tempranillo and Black Hinge Shiraz are limited to select vintages.
